Athelian Apprentices Association

Photographs from the family of Capt. Hopley.

The following photos were received from Anne Spence, great granddaughter of Captain Hopley, Athel Lineís first Marine Superintendent.

Former A.A.A. Vice President, Captain Jack White, was Anneís great uncle.

Anne Spenceís great grandmother, Eveline Hopley, launched at least three of the early Athel ships at various shipyards around the UK coast.

With the passage of time, some of the names have been lost. However they do portray the style of the day and the relative antiquity of the shipyards.

Most probable match for the photo below for launches in the period.
